Eligibility:
Contestants must have Indiana state residency to be eligible to participate in the CarmelFest Has
Talent contest. Contestants who were awarded first place in the previous year may not compete
in the same category the following year.
Individual applicants are only eligible to enter into one age category as determined by the
contestant’s age on July 4th. A group applicant, that is composed of more than one
musician, will enter into the age category into which the majority of your musicians fall. Groups
must consist of 6 people or less. Due to constraints on stage space and electrical capability,
CarmelFest Has Talent will need to determine how many/which type of instruments can be
accommodated on a case by case basis as registrations are submitted. Decisions on whether or
not certain instruments can be accommodated will be communicated to the contestant prior to
auditions, but the decisions made by CarmelFest Has Talent will be final.
Eligibility to participate in CarmelFest Has Talent requires that contestants are not professional
musicians; do not or have not in the past had any type of talent representation such as a talent
agent or manager, a music recording contract, a merchandising contract, or any other contractual
arrangement related to an ongoing musical performance (for example, a paid professional
musical theater role).
Contestants who progress to the final performance round agree to be available to participate
during the July 4th performance. Contestants who are not available for the final performance
round will forfeit the opportunity.

final performance, only a piano will be available to use; you must bring any other instrument(s)
that will be played.

performance if you are chosen to move on in the competition. When choosing a song to perform, remember that CarmelFest is a family friendly and outdoor event. The songs that have been most
